Parham Nikseresht

I am a filmmaker and actor based in Oslo.

I started on stage, in theatre, before film pulled me in. Since then I have lived in five countries, which turned out to be the education that mattered most. Arriving somewhere new, not speaking the language yet, working out how a place expects you to behave, that sits underneath almost everything I make.

My films keep returning to the same question. What does it take to find your footing somewhere that is not yet yours, and what do you carry with you while you do it? I am drawn to characters slightly out of place, and to the small moments where they either fit or they don't.

I write, direct and edit, and I act on screen and on stage. I like being involved in every part of building a story rather than only one piece of it. Purple Pigeon Pictures is where that work lives, from short fiction to documentary, in Norway and abroad.
